Join us in the spectacularly sylvan setting of Milton Abbey School in Dorset for an immersive week of choral singing under the guidance of a truly internationally-renowned faculty led by our Choral Director, maestro extraordinaire Gavin Carr and our Artistic Director, Basso supremo James Platt.
Dive into the essence of ChoralFest, culminating in a final performance of Verdi’s magnificent Requiem on Saturday 25th July, 7:30pm
Focusing on the ever-magnificent Verdi Requiem as our main work, you will enjoy sessions on individually-tailored vocal technique and repertoire with our faculty of luminaries: Jennifer Davies, Victoria Simmonds, Ben Johnson, Julia Lynch, Lada Valesova, Mike Pugh, and Kelvin Lim.
Spend a week in illustrious company in the magical setting of Milton Abbey, getting to make new friends over a relaxing drink with all the faculty, artists and participants, enjoying letting your hair down in our legendary Cabaret Night, working to improve and develop your singing in holistic and supportive ways….and on top of all this, enjoying world-class evening recitals from our amazing faculty: you’ll simply have the time of your life!
Included in your ChoralFest pass:
- Two 30-minute individual sessions
- Plus sign-up for as many extra sessions with our incredible faculty as we can fit in for you!
- A total of 8 hours direct contact time each day across:
- Full participation in all main choir rehearsals for Verdi’s Messa da Requiem
- Smaller ensemble rehearsals
- Group vocal warm-ups and technique sessions
- Take part in a performance of Verdi’s Requiem in Milton Abbey on Saturday 25th July
- Opportunities to take part in our Faculty-led daily masterclasses
- Guaranteed seats for our faculty-led evening recitals and talks

ChoralFest 7-day Residential Pass

Includes full access to all ChoralFest rehearsals and performances. You can choose to pay in full or pay 50% upfront with the remainder due after 30 days.
ChoralFest 7-day Non-Residential Pass

Includes full access to all ChoralFest rehearsals and performances. You can choose to pay in full or pay 50% upfront with the remainder due after 30 days.
Accommodation
7-nights on-site accommodation with a Residential Pass. Single and twin rooms available; all rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. All residential participants also have access to kitchen facilities plus a common room with television and comfortable seating.
Meals and refreshments
Residential Pass: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two refreshment breaks per day.
Non-Residential Pass: Lunch, dinner and two refreshment breaks only.
*Not included in the package, but available to all participants, is access to a coffee shop and an evening bar.
Main choir and small ensemble rehearsals
Your ChoralFest pass includes all rehearsals and sectional work for the performance of Verdi’s Requiem. There will also be the opportunity to work in small ensembles/consorts with an informal performance of these towards the end of the week.
Recitals, performances and individual lessons and coachings
At least two one-to-one sessions (singing lessons, musical coaching, language sessions) are guaranteed, with the option to sign-up for more throughout the week. Daily masterclasses are also available for you to observe or take part in – whichever you prefer. Plus enjoy front-row seats to special recitals and performances from our outstanding faculty.
You can also attend our legendary Cabaret Evening – participation is optional but encouraged! – plus relax and enjoy our Sing-a-Long Cinema Night which is always a favourite.
Solo opportunities to join OperaFest and SongFest
There will be opportunities to join some sessions on the other solo singer pathways in Song and Opera for those that wish to. OperaFest sessions may include: opera ensembles, recitative workshops and an informal performance of opera arias and scenes. SongFest sessions may include: workshops and classes on song. All participants will have the opportunity to work with coaches on repertoire including English, French, Italian, German, Czech and Russian.
