Have finally got around to adding my thanks to all involved in a triumphant ChoralFest 2025. It was a wonderful week and I learned a lot from such an inspriational and talented group of people.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful week. So wonderful to get to know so many wonderful people and sorry that as a ‘day girl’ I did not get to know more people better. So here’s to next year!

Thanks to all of you, and especially to Gavin Carr for demanding such exacting and high standards from singers, (including from accompanist, dear Lada Valesova with her truly remarkable playing, and Mike Pugh for providing those all-important lower notes and page turning!). It all culminated in that extraordinary shared experience of Dvorak’s sublime and moving piece. Along with James Platt and his rigorous and revelatory daily breathing techniques and warm-ups, plus the opportunity to learn from the amazing line up of tutors, it is fair to say we have all been treated to a life changing experience this week.

Indeed a great great privilege to get lessons from such incredible singers and vocal teachers.

I can only echo what everyone else has said, I will remember this week for many years to come. One amazing highlight after another, but to pick one at random, I was several times almost in tears during the Thursday evening recital, put together at such short notice, then lost it completely in the final sublime Soave Sia il Vento trio! So thank you to the whole wonderful team and to all my fellow singers.
